OK - Bayfield is way up north!
If you're driving, you might want to stock up on a few CDs
or books on tape. But it's an easy trip, whether by the I
system or state highways . . . in descending order, 450
miles from Chicago, 360 from Milwaukee, 330 from Madison,
220 from the Twin Cities and 85 from Duluth.
From the South: drive north on Hwy.13 through Washburn. At the north
end of Washburn look for the mileage sign that says "Bayfield
12". Go 8.4 miles to where Hwy. 13 meets Hatchery Road. Turn
left, go 3/10 mile and turn right at the first driveway,
84100. From the North: follow Hwy. 13 through Bayfield.
Stay on Hwy. 13 and look for the "Artesian House" arrow and
a sharp right turn where Hwy. 13 meets Hatchery Road. Go 3/10 mile and turn right at the first driveway,
